Adventure Aquarium Prepares for Spring Break with its Button's BIGGER Birthday Bash Celebration!
Adventure Aquarium's cast is busily preparing for Button's BIGGER Birthday Bash, an even BIGGER version of the Aquarium's annual birthday celebration of Button the hippo, who will be turning 12 this year. In fact, from April 4 through April 19, Adventure Aquarium will be literally transformed into party central…HIPPO PARTY CENTRAL, that is!
Button's BIGGER Birthday Bash will feature gigantic, vibrant birthday decorations, a massive hippo birthday cake, and all the fun activities that guests' have come to love most during the annual birthday celebration, including hippo arts & crafts activities; doing the "Hokey Pokey" with our hippo mascots; singing "Happy Birthday" to Button, and watching as the birthday girl feasts on pieces of her very own hippo birthday cake, created by Walnut Hill College's Restaurant School with carefully chosen ingredients like potatoes, Brussels sprout, kale, baby cabbage, carrot and other root vegetables. So what, you may ask, makes this year's Button's Birthday Bash even BIGGER?
Adventure Aquarium is introducing several new elements to its Button's BIGGER Birthday Bash celebration this year, including LIVE performances from rockin' kids bands like Ernie & Neil and Secret Agent 23 Skidoo; daily appearances by the fun-loving characters of Nickelodoen's "The Backyardigans;" the all new Button's Birthday Bash Dance Party; a hippo-sized birthday wall for guests to write personalized birthday messages; a giant birthday cake replica for photos; and chances to win prizes from scores of participating sponsors like 5 Below, Dave & Busters, the Gazillion Bubble Show, the Crayola Factory, Ride the Ducks, and many more. Guests will even get their very own hippo party hat… just for coming to the party (while supplies last)!
Also, don't forget to check out the West African River Experience exhibit, home to the birthday girl herself! Located in Zone D, the West African River Experience is one of the largest exhibits at Adventure Aquarium, featuring two Nile hippos, as well as porcupines, more than 1,000 fish, and some 15 species of West African birds. You'll literally feel like you're stepping into Africa when you enter the exhibit, which was designed to mock an actual African land and river setting. In fact, the exhibit is the only one of its kind in an aquarium in the entire U.S.! Experience the magnificence of hippos as they effortlessly glide through the water; hand-feed African birds in a free fight aviary; or attend live shows daily. All of this and more is offered in Adventure Aquarium's West African River Experience exhibit throughout the Buttons BIGGER Birthday Bash celebration.
