ELECTION DAY AT ADVENTURE AQUARIUM... THE RESULTS ARE IN!
Kid voters turned out in record numbers today at Adventure Aquarium for its Election Day event, a hands-on, family fun event that helps kids get excited about voting. Not only were kids given the opportunity to vote for their favorite Aquarium animal and experience, they were also able to cast their vote for the next President of the United States of America. Amazingly, 317 kids turned out to vote at Adventure Aquarium on Election Day - 46% were boys and 54% were girls.
The kids have voted and the results are in! Here is what kids at Adventure Aquarium had to say on this 2008 Presidential Election Day:
- "Sharks" won as "Favorite Animal" with 39% of the vote, while "Penguins" took a close 2nd place with 20% of the vote!
- "Touching Sharks" was the clear winner of the "Favorite Adventure Aquarium Experience" category, with 36% of the votes. The Aquarium's brand new "Virtual Shark Cage" took 2nd place with 13% of the votes
- And the BIG question... who did kids vote for as the next President of the United States of America? In what can only be called a landslide win, 84% of kids voted for "Barack Obama" as the next President of the United States of America, with John McCain securing 16% of the votes.
