CELEBRATE WORLD OCEAN DAY AT ADVENTURE AQUARIUM ON MONDAY, JUNE 8TH

Join Adventure Aquarium this Monday, June 8th to help celebrate World Ocean Day, a recognition created by the World Ocean Network to help change the way people view our oceans. The concept for World Oceans Day was first proposed in 1992 by the Government of Canada at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro and it had been unofficially celebrated every year since. As of 2009, "World Oceans Day" has been officially declared by the United Nations as June 8th each year!

The goal of Adventure Aquarium's World Oceans Day Celebration is simple: to help educate guests about the oceans, the beautiful creatures and habitats found within them, and about how our actions ultimately affect them. Most importantly, we hope to help educate guests about the many ways they can start their own legacy of ocean protection. Adventure Aquarium's World Ocean Day Celebration will feature:

A unique Seal Show with a special conservation message/sign delivered to the underwater viewing window from one of our Seals!
Special World Ocean Day signage by Adventure Aquarium's underwater scuba divers
Various displays, educational activities, and exhibits presented by local conservation-minded organizations.
Speak with exhibitors, including 4th and 5th grade students from Camden's LEAP Academy Charter School, to get their unique take on the importance of protecting our oceans.
Watch a brief ocean conservation video focusing on the importance of keeping our lakes, rivers and oceans clean. After, join Adventure Aquarium staff, scuba divers and mascot Gill to take the World Ocean's Day Pledge
Speak with Adventure Aquarium's Husbandry Director, Marc Kind, about the plight our oceans', and the animals that reside within them, face. More importantly, learn simple things you and your family can do to help start a legacy of ocean protection!

10:10 am sharp! Ocean conservation-focused Seal Show at SEAL SHORES with a special World Ocean's Day Message at the underwater window delivered by one of our Seals!

1:00 pm sharp! Guests can enjoy an brief ocean conservation video in the Ocean Realm Theater and then join Adventure Aquarium staff, diver, and mascot Gill to take the World Ocean's Day Pledge.

11:00 am - 2:00 pm Speak with 4th and 5th grade students from Camden's LEAP Academy Charter School, along with various other conservation-minded exhibitors, about the importance of starting a legacy of ocean protection.
