CAMDEN, N.J. — This Earth Day, Adventure Aquarium is excited to launch the Action for Animals Audio Tour for guests to learn more about their favorite animals, the challenges these species face in the wild and simple conservation practices.
Action for Animals Audio Tour is a self-guided, 17-stop tour that is free of charge to all guests, and accessible by scanning QR codes with a smartphone. The tour is narrated by Adventure Aquarium team members and includes stories about the animals, environmental concerns and how Adventure Aquarium is taking action to protect our beloved animals and their environments. To make it easy for guests to join the effort, each tour stop includes a conservation tip along with a suggested conservation partner for further exploration.
“With this new audio tour we’re hoping to inspire guests to act not just on Earth Day, but every day,” said Marc Kind, Director of Aquarium Operations. “As someone who has dedicated their life to animal care, ensuring these animals survive is at the top of my list. While guests will learn about some pretty heavy topics, they’ll also be motivated to make simple choices that can really make a big difference, like reusing or refusing plastic, buying local produce and being a responsible pet owner.”
Action for Animals Audio Tour is Adventure Aquarium’s first audio tour and is a permanent addition to the aquarium’s guest experience. The launch of the Action for Animals Audio Tour is in coordination with the Association for Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) Party for the Planet, Spring Into Action campaign which celebrates Earth Day, Endangered Species Day, and World Ocean Day. Adventure Aquarium received a grant from the AZA which paved the way for the production of this tour.
Adventure Aquarium will support Party for the Planet with videos, blogs, worksheets and digital wallpapers, and will host a Sea Turtle Awareness Weekend from May 29 through May 31.
