CAMDEN, N.J. – Dive into the holiday season with Adventure Aquarium’s annual Christmas Underwater presented by Shriners Hospital Philadelphia featuring Scuba Santa and the World’s Tallest Underwater Christmas Tree beginning Friday, November 26 through Christmas Eve.
This holiday season, families can visit Scuba Santa as he dives in Ocean Realm, the Aquarium’s largest exhibit. Guests will have the opportunity to get selfies with Santa while he and his elf helper swim with sharks, stingrays and sea turtles. Nearby, a new talk, “Fishmas Traditions,” will engage guests about annual Aquarium traditions and a new puppet show, “Merry Fishmas, Boris,” will entertain our younger guests.
The World’s Tallest Underwater Christmas Tree will light up Shark Realm among sandbar, nurse, Atlantic blacktip and sand tiger sharks. The newly themed Pirates Passage will feature eight miniature underwater Christmas displays delighting guests as they sparkle underwater and provide enrichment for our animal residents.
There is more décor than ever before, with holiday cheer spread throughout the Aquarium - over 100 trees, 6,853 ornaments, 784 feet of garland and tons of twinkling lights.
Plus, Adventure Aquarium’s “Snowtunda” is back! Thanks to a little Christmas magic, snow will fall each hour in the Aquarium’s Rotunda during regular business hours.
“Christmas Underwater is one of our favorite traditions here at Adventure Aquarium,” said Molly Deese, Executive Director of Adventure Aquarium. “From Scuba Santa to the entire aquarium decked out for the season, we love being part of family holiday traditions.”
Guests should visit the Aquarium website for a listing of programming and Scuba Santa dive times.
Christmas Underwater is included with daily tickets and Adventure Aquarium Memberships. Reservations are strongly encouraged.
