Mermaids Return to Adventure Aquarium in 2023 | June 1 - 18

CAMDEN, N.J. (May 22, 2023) – Ocean lovers can bring their imaginations to life this summer as Adventure Aquarium transports the magic of the underwater world off of the big screen and under the sea as “real-life” mermaids dive deep amongst its collection of sharks from June 1-18 (Thursday-Sunday only).

During this fantastical festival, Adventure Aquarium will offer guests the chance to make memories as they explore the mermaid world both underwater and above the surface.

During the Mermaids festival, Adventure Aquarium’s offerings will include:

MERMAIDS UNDERWATER EXPERIENCE (Zone D – Shark Realm)

See mermaids diving deep in Adventure Aquarium’s Shark Realm exhibit, which is home to a collection of sandbar, sand tiger, and nurse sharks. Guests can interact and take photos with mermaids in front of a movie-screen-sized window and enjoy fin-tastic views of the 550,000-gallon exhibit.

Please Note: The Mermaids Underwater Experience operates on timed entry. Guests will receive a timed ticket upon entry to the Aquarium that indicates when they can enter the Underwater Experience.

MERMAID BEACH CLUB (Zone B – Stingray Beach Club)

Stingray Beach Club is getting a mermaid makeover! Stop by to see a mermaid wading above the surface amongst cownose and southern stingrays as she sings and blows kisses to visitors.

MERMAID MEET & GREET (Zone B)

Step on into the Mermaids’ manor to meet a mermaid up close as she sits on her clamshell throne. Don’t forget to capture the mer-moment with a professional photo keepsake!

Guests can save time and money by pre-purchasing their mermaid photo package ahead of time. The online photo package includes two 6x8 photos for $25.

FOOD & BEVERAGE (Zone E)

Aramark, the Aquarium’s concessionaire, will offer a number of mermaid-themed treats, including:

• Mermaid Cotton Candy Dippin’ Dots | Cotton candy flash-frozen ice cream bites
• Mermaid Fish Cone | Purple vanilla soft serve ice cream in a home-made, fish-shaped waffle cone and topped with mermaid sprinkles
• Mermaid Gelati | Frozen Icee swirled with purple vanilla soft serve and mermaid sprinkles
• Mermaid Sundae | Purple vanilla soft serve ice cream served in a souvenir bowl and topped with graham cracker dust, mermaid sprinkles, and cotton candy Dippin’ Dots
• Mermaid Candy Stand | Serving mermaid-themed lollipops, rock candy, cotton candy and lemonade (Only available in the Underwater Mermaid Experience)

Savory Snacks

• Fish & Chips | Crispy fried fish fillets served with fries and coleslaw
• Po’ Boy Fish Sandwich | Crispy fish fillet on a telera roll and topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and remoulade. – served with fries.
